Here’s my personal experience about cemetery property and why I wrote this book.


When I was still a youngster my father would always take the family on short one-day outings. Sometimes we would go to museums, sometimes to a farm to see animals or pick fruit; sometimes we drove to affluent neighborhoods that we could not afford just to see how the “other half” lived. But I still remember one time when my father took us on a mystery trip to the cemetery.
You see, my father already knew from his research that this cemetery was located in an area that was right in the path of future development, was well planned, still reasonably priced, and with all of the services and restrictions that would assist in growing its value. Frankly, at that age, to me it was just a big park with lots of dead people.
After agreeing on a price and choosing the cemetery plots that he wanted he and my mom signed some papers and we were ready to leave. At that time I could not have possibly known that he was making one of the best investment decisions of his life.
It wasn’t until years later when my father died that we realized what a brilliant move he had made. He had actually bought 4 cemetery plots which were worth considerably more than he had paid for them. And, he saved us the stress and heartache of trying to find just the right location at a time of extreme grief.
As it turned out, after my mother died several years later we buried her next to dad and saved time and other potential problems because of my his intelligent foresight.
